We started the week with a challenge: How to add movement to the stoic, architectural Emerald Cut? The answer lies in this new sketch. We designed a sweeping "S" curve of pavé diamonds that wraps around the center stone like a ribbon caught in the wind.
The Design: The fluid, asymmetrical curve softens the sharp corners of the rectangular step-cut stone.
The Variations: As shown in the sketch, we envision this in three moods: classic White (Diamond/moissanite), vibrant Zambian Green (Emerald), or deep Ruby Red. It’s a piece that feels static yet looks like it’s in motion.
The "Rose Ribbon" Pendant
At the heart of this design is the setting itself. Instead of traditional prongs, we imagined the gold as a piece of silk ribbon.
Notice how the bail of the pendant doesn't just hold the stone; it flows down, splitting into two graceful curves that "hug" the top corners of the Emerald Cut stone. Paved with delicate accent stones, these curves catch the light, drawing the eye down to the deep, hall-of-mirrors reflection of the center stone. It creates a visual effect of a precious gift being gently unwrapped.
The "Frozen Bloom" Geometric Pendant
For our final sketch of the week, we looked to nature’s most perfect geometric form: the snowflake. This pendant is a study in mixed cuts. We alternated soft, water-like Pear Cut Aquamarines with sharp, architectural Trapezoid Cut stones. The result is a "flower" that feels less like a garden bloom and more like a crystallized ice formation. To add a touch of whimsy to the structure, we finished the design with a delicate drop of two bezel-set stones, creating a subtle movement that catches the light with every breath. It’s cool, crisp, and undeniably modern.
The "Neon Lights" Cluster Collection
Who says you have to pick just one favorite color? Our fourth concept is inspired by the vibrant energy of a city at night—specifically, the glowing Neon Lights. We broke the rules of traditional matching by clustering four distinct, high-saturation shades together: Padparadscha Pink, Colombian Green, Cornflower Blue, and deep Granatum Purple. The asymmetry is intentional. By mixing rectangular emerald cuts with round stones in a scattered arrangement, we created a pendant and ring set that feels dynamic and alive. It’s a wearable party—bold, confident, and impossible to ignore.
From the gentle, romantic embrace of the "Rose Ribbon" to the cool geometry of the "Frozen Bloom," and finally, the electric energy of our "Neon Lights" cluster—this week has been a celebration of contrasts.
We believe that jewelry is personal. Whether you see yourself in the quiet elegance of an emerald cut or the bold vibrancy of multi-colored gems, these sketches are just the beginning. They are waiting for your unique touch to become reality.
Tell us which concept caught your eye, or let’s mix and match these ideas to create something entirely new. The sketchbook is open, and we are ready to create with you.
