A half eternity band sets stones across the top half only, leaving the back in plain gold. This makes it resizable, more comfortable for everyday wear, and typically more affordable, while still delivering the same symbolic meaning. If your ring size may change over time, or if you want a band you can wear comfortably for decades, half eternity is the more practical choice.

14K Gold vs. 18K Gold

Gold purity affects both the look and the durability of your ring. 14K gold (58.3% pure gold) is more affordable and more resistant to everyday scratches and dents, making it a strong choice for a ring worn daily. 18K gold (75% pure gold) has a richer, deeper color and a higher resale and intrinsic value, but is comparatively softer. Both are excellent choices for an eternity band — the right one depends on whether you're prioritizing durability or depth of color and value.

Choosing a Setting Style

The setting affects how secure your stones are and how the ring catches light:

• Prong setting — maximizes light entry and sparkle, classic look, slightly less protection for the stones
• Channel setting — stones sit flush between two metal rails, smooth profile, very secure for daily wear
• Bezel setting — each stone is wrapped in metal, most protective, modern minimal look
• Pavé setting — small stones set closely together for continuous, dense sparkle

Stacking and Wear

Gold eternity rings are commonly stacked alongside an engagement ring and wedding band, worn solo as an anniversary or milestone gift, or stacked with other gold bands for a layered look.
